David A. Wilson

Experienced Personal Injury Attorney Committed to Aggressive Representation to get his clients the best results possible.

Knowledge beyond the Textbooks

Since beginning his career, David Wilson has concentrated on personal injury and wrongful death litigation. He has tried nearly 100 civil trials before juries throughout Indiana and Illinois. For more than a decade, he was retained by insurance companies and self-insured businesses. During that time, he handled cases for most major automobile, specialty, and general liability insurance companies, and he understands the claims processes and tactics of those companies.

He was also a member of the Trucking Industry Defense Association and represented several national trucking companies. He has seen firsthand the practices of these companies and the devastation these companies can cause on the roads. He was also on call for several companies and would be called to accident scenes while vehicles were still on the roadway.

After more than a decade, and while a partner at a multi-state defense law firm, he observed too many decent people deprived of a fair resolution, David A. Wilson resigned from a very active defense practice. One insurance company requested he continue to represent them in his new position, which he refused to do.

Representing injured people and helping them through an arduous process has been the greatest joy and privilege of his career. As he learned during his military career, fighting for others who can’t fight for themselves offers its own reward.

David A. Wilson has represented clients in personal injury cases in state and federal courts, with a passion for getting them the justice they deserve. He is licensed to practice in the following jurisdictions and courts:

  • United States Supreme Court
  • United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit
  • Northern District of Indiana
  • Southern District of Indiana
  • Northern District of Illinois (Trial Bar)
  • State of Indiana
  • State of Illinois
  • Southern District of Illinois

Military Service

It was in the US Army where David A. Wilson learned the true meaning of service. During his time in the Army, he served in the Military Police. During his service, he was assigned to the Republic of Panama. He was also deployed twice to the Republic of Honduras.

During his service, he received Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal (with Oak Leaf Cluster denoting his second medal) before he was honorably discharged. It was during his military service that David A. Wilson developed his appreciation of helping others who were not as fortunate in life.

Union Background

While attending college, David Wilson put in extra effort to help others. While working at Martin Marietta (now Lockheed Martin), David was a union member and became a shift committeeman. He later was a member of a multi-plant contract negotiation committee negotiating a new collective bargaining agreement with Martin Marietta.

He served as a financial secretary-treasurer for the union local and was selected for the union's international political action committee. During his tenure in the union and while attending college, he rewrote the local’s constitution and by-laws and converted certificates of deposit of union funds into higher yield CDs, increasing the long-term yield of the invested union funds.
